The Last Stand for U.S News & World Report

“It’s not about the absence of fear, but about learning how to be brave. The brave ones escape by going forward”
It’s a totally asymmetric battle, completely unbalanced, homemade shields, rocks and Molotov cocktails against armored vehicles, rubber bullets, teargas canister and sometime fire guns. For many it is naive while for others it represents a battle they are waging for a better, safer and equal Venezuela, to reach those promises Chavez's revolution did not accomplish.

For moments it was a poetic battle., worthy of a story, David versus Goliath; it is the light falling from the West, that seeps between the tear gas and the demonstrators who have too much to gain and too little to lose; for them, the future does not look promising, there are less of them with each passing day, but this makes them more energetic. It is almost certain that deep inside them, they already know that this was a very uphill battle to win.
